McDonald’s Creates World Cup Themed Fry Boxes and Sandwiches
Soccer fans rejoice, the long four year wait is finally over, the World Cup is upon us. This year, the World Cup kicks off on June 12 with host nation Brazil facing off against Croatia. High hopes are set for this young Brazilian team and it might be their turn to take the title and the trophy.
Looking to spark excitement for this years World Cup, McDonald’s has ventured into unchartered territory and have redesigned their French fry boxes. For the first time, the golden arches overlaying the red backdrop containing the salty goodness that over a million customers have come to love will be changed. Commissioning 12 artists from around the globe, the large fry boxes will feature art looking to capture the shared passion and love for soccer across the world. These new boxes also unlock an interactive app developed by McDonald’s called “McDonald’s GOL!” So, snap a picture of the fry box through the app and score a goal to become part of the World Cup action.
McDonald’s has also implemented new World Cup sandwiches. Each sandwich will be available on a different day of the week, and will represent a different country participating in the World Cup. So, take a bite out of your nation and cheer on your team with these new McDonald’s items.
